Lindsay Higgs graduated from the Bachelor of Business Administration program in 2012. Since then she has worked at Bombardier Transportation as an Administrative Assistant, at St. Lawrence College’s Student Association as an Operations Manager, and is currently working at Queen’s University as the Residence Front Desk Supervisor. Lindsay also owns and operates a Cake Decorating Business known as Sassy Sweets. Her duties including all decorating, marketing and finances of the business.
Lindsay feels that the Bachelor of Business Administration program has opened many different doors of opportunity for her. It gave her a broad understanding of business practices and allowed her to network with various business professionals. It provided her with the skills to jump into the working world and climb the ladder towards management and supervisory positions very quickly. Lindsay also says it provided her with the entrepreneurial skills to excel her own business. She started Sassy Sweets as a hobby in 2008 and is now making up to 20 cakes per week, and is a well known and sought after cake decorator in Kingston and surrounding area.
Lindsay is very happy with the educational path she chose and thinks the Laurentian University at St. Lawrence College BBA program was the perfect stepping stone to launch her as an entrepreneur.

Steve is entering the final semester of the Bachelor of Business Administration program at SLC. He was recognized as an ambassador for the BBA program in 2016, the recipient of the Presidents List Award in 2015, recognized for leadership in 2015, and the Deans List award winner for 2012-2013. Steve has been on the Dean’s list for eight consecutive semesters. Steve is a graduate of the Business Administrative Accounting program who started tutoring, mentoring, and volunteering in 2013. He has participated in three mentoring programs and has tutored over 400 students. Steve is a student employee at the School of Business and the Writing and Math Centre.
Steve has participated in almost every volunteer event that the School of Business and College offer. Some of the notable volunteer positions are Data manager for the award winning 2014/2015 SLC Enactus team, a three-time College Open House Ambassador, a three-time Summer Success/Smart Start Ambassador, a three-time Orientation Ambassador, a two-time Career week presentation participant, a two-time YWIC volunteer and a Lead 2016 Ambassador. Some of the other notable volunteer opportunities Steve has participated in are Convocation, Manage Your Money, Food Cents, Community Showcase, and various mixers.
Steve does have competitive spirit, however, it is limited to the attitude of putting the best effort in and rejoicing upon the participation and success of all competitors. He has participated in five Accounting Completions in total, three at the college level and two in Toronto at the provincial level. One of his most recent accomplishments is the completion of the 2016 Queen’s Innovation Connector Summer Initiative internship as a St. Lawrence College student. The teams that he was a member of finished 1st at the mini-pitch completion and placed third in the final completion winning a prize of $10,000.00.
